Jeungsimsa TempleJeungsimsa Temple, a historical site which gone through 3 dynasties since it built during Silla Kingdom (507), and put restorations during Goryeo and Joseon dynasty. It's a representative temple for Gwangju city, lies under the Mudeungsan mountain. It offers Temple Stay experience to those who need healing time.

Jusangjeolli CliffJusangjeolli Cliff of Mudeungsan Mountain are a formation of rock pillars with shapes of various hexagonal. Formed about 70 millions years ago consist of Seoseokdae, Ipseokdae, and Gyubong Rocks.
The Neodeolgeong (cluster of rocks) made when stone pillars collapsed. The standing rocks and Neodolgeong have been designated as Natural Monuments due to their rarity and uniqueness. |
Gwangju National MuseumGwangju National Museum built in 1978 is a home of over 130,000 historical artifact from Silla Kingdom era and valuable arts found in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do regions. The museum aims to provide an enjoyable cultural center for visitors.

originally named Songjeong Yeokjeon Maeil Market (literally meaning “the Daily Outdoor Market across from Songjeong Station”) founded 1913. 36 original shops dated at least 100 years old been preserved at least 3 main items; signboard letters, shop structure, and store color. |
Gwangju Family LandGwangju Family Land, the largest amusement park in Honam region, located inside Uchi Park.
It offers thrilling fun rides, including Korea's largest Ferris Wheel, sports facilities; snow sled park, ice rink, swimming pool, and play zone facilities; driving school, imaginary drone, making pizza experience. Also has a family stage arena for live performances. |
Penguin VillageYangnim-dong Penguin Village, a neighborhood village from the 70s-80s that transform into outdoor exhibition space, some showing vintage goods from old houses.
Stroll down the art alleys to see murals, wall of old clocks, and Penguin Tavern, a place to sit and chat with the local residents. |
5.18 Democratic SquareThe landmark of May 18th Democratic Uprising took place in 1980. Since 1996 it has been officially known as the May 18 Democratic Square. Located in front of the former Jeollanam-do Provincial Government stretch to Geumnam-ro area, with the iconic blue fountain and garden as its center.

5.18 Memorial ParkTo commemorate the May 18 Democratization Movement, the 5·18 Memorial Park was established. The park houses various historical and cultural facilities, including the 5·18 Library, 5·18 Cultural Center, Education Center, Daedong Plaza, Owoldae Tower, Freedom Park, and other memorial sculptures and monuments.

Uchi ParkUchi Park is the largest recreational park in Jeolla Province, nestled in a beautiful mountain scenery, harboring a green lake.

Gwangju Art StreetGwangju Art Street, Chungjang-ro street is aimed to become the central art district (similar to Insadong in Seoul) and developing Gwangju’s traditional art scenes through local work's exhibition. Visit Art Flea Market every Saturdays in this area.

Dongmyeongdong Cafe StreetDongmyeong-dong Cafe Street. Dongmyeong-dong was one of the richest regions in Gwangju before the Provincial Government offices moved to Muan. Today, Dongmyeong-dong is home to a unique and vibrant coffee scenes, The street filled with cafes that boast unique shopfronts, one-of-a-kind interiors, and innovative flavors drink menus.

Maengmundong-gilMaengmundong Forest Road is a beautiful metasequoia road filled with Maengmundong flowers (Lilyturf). Located in downtown Gwangju, Munheungdong-gil, nearby Chonnam National University. Once was an empty space then decided to plant greeneries, meant as the Honam highway's soundproof walls for surrounding area.
